If you’re on Instagram, you’ve probably seen the homes on Bywater Street, in Chelsea, London.
They’ve long been a social media mainstay, because they tick the boxes of being fancy, in London, and painted pretty colours.
Thanks to these qualities, the properties pop up all over Instagram and fashion blogs, in the background of OOTDs and shots of ice cream cones and croissants held aloft.
Now, you can finally live in one of those gloriously colourful buildings.
Well, we say ‘you can’. What we mean is someone could, if they happen to have a lot of money.
A two-bedroom house on the Insta-famous road has landed on the rental market, for the princely sum of £7,800 a month.
That’s quite a bit more than most Londoners are paying for their houseshares.
But for such a grand price, you do get quite a chunk of luxury living.
For one thing, the location. Bywater Street is just off King’s Road, just a few minutes walk from the Duke of York Square, fancy shops in Knightsbridge, and Battersea Park.
The road is also known as the home of John le Carré’s fictional MI6 intelligence officer George Smiley.
Then there’s the house itself.
Inside are four levels. When you enter the raised ground floor, you’ll find a double reception room with wooden floors, plus an office area and a working fireplace. Fancy.
Go down a level and there’s the large kitchen, complete with a dining area and a breakfast bar, as well as a guest bathroom and a utility area with a washer and dryer.
On the first floor sits the master bedroom, with has an en suite bathroom (with a very snazzy tub) and access to a private roof terrace, then there’s a second double bedroom, also with an en suite, on the floor above.
Real estate agents Dexters describe the home as ‘finished to a very high standard throughout’ and ‘perfect for tenants looking for the finer things in life’.
Oh, and the exterior is a nice powder blue. Coordinate your outfits accordingly.
Percy Bodington, of Dexters, said: ‘Bywater Street is one of the most famous roads Chelsea has to offer, so naturally, it’s rare for one of these properties to become available to rent
‘The street is well known for being Chelsea’s most photographed location. If you walk past Bywater Street you’ll often see influencers posing in front of the brightly coloured houses.
‘Whoever takes this property will certainly add a splash of colour into their life.’
Well, whoever can afford nearly £8k a month will definitely enjoy that.
The rest of us schmucks can continue scampering around on the doorsteps, hoping to snap a quick pic before the homeowners tell us to get lost.
