Carol Kirkwood joined Dan Walker and Sally Nugent on BBC Breakfast today to deliver the weather report but the presenter was left hitting out at Dan when he took a “cheeky” swipe at her. The BBC hosts introduced the first weather report of the show by sharing their excitement at the predicted warmer climate but Dan’s suggestion that Carol “covers her back” by pointing out that only “some” will receive the sun wasn’t received well.
Introducing the meteorologist, Sally revealed she was couldn’t wait to enjoy the sun.
“Carol always says for some,” Dan remarked. “She covers her back.”
“Yes some of us will have some sunshine,” Carol began. “And that isn’t covering my back you cheeky thing.”
After her report, Dan apologised to Carol before blaming his remarks on the early hours of the morning.
“Thank you very much for that. Sorry,” he said and she replied: “I’ll let you off Dan.”
“I know you are accurate,” Dan added and the meteorologist quipped: “You rascal.”
“It’s early I’ve got no control over my mouth until seven,” he explained.
