As always, BBC Breakfast hosts Dan Walker and Louise Minchin crossed over to Morning Live hosts Janette Manrara and Gethin Jones to find out what would be coming up on the show. While Gethin promised another Strictly Come Dancing themed work out, Janette could be stretching alongside him. However things went pear-shaped when she caused an accident causing her morning tea to spill across the studio floor.
Gethin told viewers: “If you have aches and pains or even a stiff back, don’t miss Strictly fitness because Janette has just the thing to make you feel good.”
“Like a cat,” the professional dance remarked as she stretched her arms out.
As Gethin repeated “like a cat,” Janette knocked over a mug on a coffee table next to her.
With liquid going everywhere she gasped: “Ooh!” as Gethin put his head in his hands.
Dan and Louise could be heard laughing in the BBC Breakfast studio as Janette covered her mouth in shock.
“You’re meant to be a professional,” Dan was heard shouting. “You’re meant to be professional Manrara.”
“Timing was perfect wasn’t it?” Gethin commented. “We’ll get that cleaned up. See you at 9.15am.”
Back in the BBC Breakfast studio, Dan said: “Thank you, we’ll be paying very close attention.”
“Don’t dance like that,” Louise warned her co-host referencing his upcoming stint on Strictly.
Dan laughed: “Exactly! I was looking to Janette for tips but that’s not happening now.”
The accident came one day after Janette revealed she has a new role on Strictly Come Dancing.
Speaking about the upcoming Strictly fitness segments, she said: “Yes slightly different we’re going to add a bit more dancing.
“More dancing? I suppose that’s timed very well with your new role on Strictly and I don’t mean It Takes Two presenting you’re also doing some choreography too, aren’t you?” Gethin remarked.
“You’ll be bossing the pros around.”
Janette explained: “As you know the pros are all in a hotel bubble for the moment to do the pro dances and I’ve been asked to come in and help choreograph some of the pro dances this series.
“It’s been really nice because I’m back in with the pros but also very hard to be two metres away from Aljaž.”
However, despite being apart as the professional dancers quarantine to rehearse for the new series, the host joked her husband enjoyed being two metres away.
“I think some parts of him like it,” she laughed.
Fans may not see Janette’s work behind the scenes but she’ll be interviewing the pros and this year’s celebrities on the It Takes Two sofa.
Morning Live airs weekdays on BBC One from 9.15am.
