Amy Dowden rushed to hospital with blood clot on lung
Amy Dowden revealed she’s been forced to cancel her Strictly dance debut tonight amid her recent health woes.
The professional dancer, 33, recently underwent chemotherapy following her cancer diagnosis and was unable to compete in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.
However, Amy said she was due to take part in a group routine on Saturday night’s show in a return to the dancefloor – her first routine since she announced her breast cancer diagnosis – but has since pulled out due to a previous foot injury.
Taking to her Instagram stories today, she mused: “I’m getting ready to come down to Strictly. I woke up a bit gutted this week. I was supposed to have been dancing on Strictly.
“But obviously, since breaking my foot and everything else, it’s not possible.”

Amy continued: “But I’m there to support the incredible semi-finalists. I can’t wait. They all look amazing and gosh… your votes are really important this weekend.
“So make sure you vote for your favourite. Can’t wait to be there and support everyone.”
The pro dancer is thankful to be in attendance at tonight’s show but said she will not be taking part in any of the group routines.
But Amy is admittedly not feeling too down about it as she offered her support to the remaining show finalists and urged viewers to make sure they vote tonight.

Meanwhile, the pro dancer relayed some good news with her 637,000 followers as she made a bizarre discovery while packing her bag ahead of tonight’s show.
Holding up a feather, she exclaimed: “Last Sunday, while I was eating my dinner Brad went to me, ‘Amy, you’ve got a white feather on your shoulder. It was my left shoulder.
“This is a white feather that landed on my shoulder. And it means that somebody is looking out for me. So I’ve kept it.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One tonight at 7.35pm.
