Fred Sirieix has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to admit he is “in trouble at home”, while being bombarded by speculation over whether he is heading to Australia.

The First Dates favourite, who lives with his fiancée Fruitcake, further fuelled rumours over him potentially joining the I’m A Celebrity 2023 line-up by mischievously tweeting: “I’m in trouble at home.

“I have no idea what I have done,” alongside several crying with laughter emojis and a zany face emoji.

It wasn’t long before fans and stars alike took to the comments section of Fred’s tweet to weigh in on what he could be in trouble for.

Le Gavroche chef Michel Roux Jr quipped in response: “Maybe something you haven’t done.”

A third person teased: “Rumble in the jungle by anychance Fred?”(sic)

A fourth joked: “maybe something to do with a long plane journey.”

“Did you forget to tell them you’re going abroad for a while?” A fifth fan quizzed Fred.

“Surely you are already in Australia???” A sixth person pondered.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is set to return to ITV in a matter of days for series 23, and several big names have been mentioned in the rumour mill, including Fred.

This Morning star Josie Gibson, Britney’s younger sister Jamie-Lynn Spears, and Nigel Farage are amongst others who have been tipped to appear in the jungle this year.

Fred previously shut down rumours he would be swapping the romantic First Dates restaurant for gruesome Bushtucker Trials.

The TV personality said last year: “I don’t think I’d do I’m a Celebrity. I wouldn’t be too keen on eating a camel’s anus or something like that.

“I know I eat frogs, I’m French, but at least those frogs are cooked!”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! returns to ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday November 19 at 9pm.
