THE BBC is gearing up to celebrate the festive holiday season in style by announcing that an axed iconic music show will get a Christmas special this year.
The broadcaster has revealed which hit movies and TV shows will air on their Channels during the festive period.
It's time to crack out the matching PJs and get ready for the festivities as the BBC has confirmed that the legendary music competition Top of the Pops will be making a Christmas comeback – although the broadcaster has not established official timings and schedule dates yet.
The broadcaster had promised a fun-packed Christmas schedule complete with offerings from Disney and Pixar.
So far, the extensive TV line-up includes the Hollywood blockbuster Toy Story 4, which will air on BBC One on Christmas Day after King Charles III’s 3pm speech.
The TOTP Christmas special will be hosted by Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo, who has been a host on the legendary chart music show before and will boast musical performances from some of the biggest pop stars of 2023.

In 2006, the BBC cancelled the pop chart show after years of viewership decline following its prime in the 1970s.
During the last 17 years, sporadic specials of the show and retrospective episodes have continued to air.
The 2023 Christmas episode will bring die-hard fans back to the pop show’s golden era, which ended with a special episode each year.
In recent years, it’s become a habit for TOTP to air hour-long year-end specials, with a slight format change that resulted in the birth of TOTP Review of the Year.
