EastEnders fans have spotted a subtle nod towards Kathy Cotton’s role in The Six this Christmas as she decorated her house for the festive period.
Kathy is one of six women involved in the huge Christmas Day murder alongside Linda Carter, Suki Panesar, Sharon Watts, Denise Fox and Stacey Slater.
Since the six were announced earlier this year, each of them has had a colour associated with them, which is the colour that they are wearing when the murder happens in the Queen Vic.
Stacey’s is red, while Linda’s is pink, Sharon’s colour is white, Suki is blue, Denise is green, and finally, Kathy is purple.
Exactly what happens on the big day is being kept under wraps, but there have been clues in nearly every episode since the flash forward episode aired in February.
As the big day draws closer, on Tuesday, 12 December, Kathy was seen putting up her tinsel in the Beale households, but eagle-eyed viewers spotted that the tinsel of choice was purple-coloured.
The viewers at home were quick to notice the theming and pointed it out on social media.
One person wrote: “Obsessed with Kathy putting up her PURPLE Christmas decorations.”
While another penned: “Is the fact that Kathy was putting up purple tinsel a nod to her #TheSix outfit?”
Someone else tweeted: “Oh, here we go with colour theme I’m sure she wasn’t always purple, but hey if ya wanna.” Another said: “I see what you’re doing with Kathy’s colour choice of tinsel there.”
The Christmas tree decorating came during a scene with her son Ian Beale, who is trying to get her to make her husband, Rocky Cotton, pay for deliberately setting fire to the café recently.
Kathy found out the truth during the episode, which aired on Monday, 11 December, and kicked her husband out.
Rocky is one of seven men whom EastEnders have teased as the potential victim on Christmas Day, alongside Phil Mitchell, Dean Wicks, Nish Panesar, Keanu Taylor, Jack Branning and Ravi Gulati.
Many suspect Rocky could be the victim, as it has already been confirmed that he is leaving Walford.
Actor Brian Conley, 62, announced the news in September but said that his departure was a “tough” decision.
He told his fans: “Hello lovely people, it's me, Brian Conley, AKA Rocky from EastEnders. Sending out this message, especially to all the EastEnders fans. Now, you may have heard reports that I'm leaving EastEnders, and it was a tough decision, but it is true… I am going.
“I made it for many reasons, this decision, and it's tough because they're such a wonderful crowd. In front of the cameras and behind the cameras, I've loved my three years there.”
He also said that he was “excited” about Rocky’s exit as he knew it is a “good one.”
