EastEnders youngster left for dead after explosive Cindy Beale showdown

Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) has collapsed after taking drugs in EastEnders, just hours after her mum returned to her life.

Gina and Anna’s (Molly Rainford) mum is Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) but the siblings know her as Rose Knight, unaware that Cindy was living a life undercover following her arrest over 20 years ago.

After previously being told that she no longer needed to live as Rose, Cindy returned to Albert Square this week to find Peter (Thomas Law) who had swapped France for England to try and locate Gina and Anna, his sisters.

After facing Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) when she stepped back into Walford, Cindy came across George (Colin Salmon), completely unaware that her family was now living at the Queen Vic.

This sparked a scene between the former couple that saw Cindy explain why she walked out on the family in 2014. A flashback sequence allowed viewers to discover that Cindy left Spain and travelled to England the day after Lucy Beale was killed.

She arrived in Walford with the intention of seeing Peter (played by Ben Hardy at the time), but her police handler Mary took Cindy away and into her car.

Mary revealed to Cindy that because she put her safety at risk, she couldn’t return to the Knight family as they may also end up in danger as well.

Tonight’s episode (August 30) of the BBC One soap (which is already available on BBC iPlayer) saw Cindy sit down with Gina and Anna to try and explain her past and why she left them.

Anna and Gina struggled to accept Cindy’s story. Anna remained incredibly hurt that Cindy never responded to her voicemails and texts, while Gina was certain that her mum is just a compulsive liar.

The siblings headed out to a party to distract themselves and while Anna found comfort in the form of kissing Freddie (Bobby Brazier), Gina got her hands on some drugs at Peggy’s.

As she stumbled around, Bernie (Clair Norris) and Felix (Matthew Morrison) realised Gina was as ‘high as hell’.

Just as she collapsed to the floor, George and Cindy arrived.

George was quick to put Gina in the recovery position, while Cindy stopped on the stairs, horrified to see her daughter in a terrible state.

But will she be ok?
