ITV star Holly Willoughby made an impressive return on This Morning accompanied by a flamboyant musical ABBA number, but failed to impress viewers.
After being absent from the programme for two months, beginning her annual summer hiatus on July 6, the 42-year-old presenter appeared alongside her new co-host, Alison Hammond, in a dazzling opening segment today (September 4), with the musical Mamma Mia! being performed.
As West End dancers and singers were giving their all, welcoming the This Morning cast with a lively rendition of ABBA’s Dancing Queen outside Television Centre in White City, London, Holly was filmed at the end of the performance making a statement comeback to the show.

"What a start to the show!" the mum-of-one exclaimed at the end of the performance.
She continued: "We are back from our summer break, but it's not just the start of a new season for our show.
“For many people out there, today is the first at school. Mine went back today.
"It was all good but we all sort of opened the window and said, 'Oh, summer decided to arrive today.”
The weather in London has picked up warmer temperatures again, after weeks of rain and gloomy skies.
Holly’s comeback segment left certain viewers divided, as many were not impressed by the musical number choreographed to welcome back the This Morning cast.
In fact, many viewers took to X (formerly known as Twitter), to express their discontent over the extravagant show.
“What the hell is this?” an X user asked.
“It’s 10:00am, we don’t need a musical,” another exclaimed.
A person asked: “What on earth is this fresh hell??”
A separate user commented: “I've had surgeries more enjoyable than this.”
A viewer chimed in: “What have we done to deserve this?”
“This shouldn't be happening on a Monday morning,” a person observed.
Another viewer noted: “They couldn't have possibly opened the show worse than this.”
An additional viewer quipped: “This is why aliens won't visit us.”
Nevertheless, few viewers did have some positive take away from the segment, as a person wrote on X: “On a positive note, Alison looks gorgeous!”
Another commented: “Love these two!!!
“Finally can enjoy This Morning again. Jealous trolls just stop.”
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
