My Mum Your Dad fans predict awkward twist that would ruin the whole show | The Sun

MY Mum Your Dad fans have predicted an awkward twist that could well ruin the whole show.

The all-new series sees single parents looking for love coming together in a country retreat – however, in a surprise to viewers their children are watching them in a secret room.

Hosted by Masked Singer icon Davina, each parent has been nominated by their own children, with the kids in charge of making key decisions throughout the show.

And fans think rows between the kids could be imminent, and shared their views on X, formally known as Twitter.

“It's gonna be so awkward between the kids if there is drama with the parents #MyMumYourDad," one person said.

Another speculated: “Can see some rows with the kids over their parents #MyMumYourDad.”

And a third echoed: “I think this is harder for the kids. They have to watch their parents try to date (cringe) but also have to be diplomatic with the other kids, not saying what they really think about how their parents are behaving."

During a Q&A, McCall warned: "Yes, there are moments where kids have cushions in front of their faces. But it could be over something quite small and intimate, because they’ve never seen their parents in a date situation."

Following the opening episode on Monday, fans were already saying they're hooked on the show.

This fan tweeted: “Completely obsessed with #mymumyourdad. Exactly what I thought it was going to be and @ThisisDavina is back in the best presenting role.”

Viewers were left emotional after one man starring on the show – a postman named Roger – revealed his daughters put him up for it after he lost his wife a year ago.

He said: “She is so thoughtful and it was just a lovely thing for her to say, ‘Dad, look, we understand that you’re struggling and it’s been hard and we know that you’ve got a lot of love to give and we’re OK if you were to see someone else.’

“I’m going on the show to get some confidence. I must have subconsciously wanted to meet someone by saying yes to the show.”
