NTAs: This Morning welcomed by Joel Dommett
This Morning was snubbed from its usual award following a tough year for the show which saw Phillip Schofield making a sensational exit after the scandal involving him and another employee was revealed.
The ITV magazine show has reigned supreme in daytime television, having won the accolade every year since 1998, but on Tuesday the title was stripped from them.
Earlier this year, Phillip admitted to having an affair with a younger male colleague and ever since his resulting departure, the show has seen widespread criticism.
Opinions on the show were proven as The Repair Shop instead scooped the award.
Fans tuned in to Wednesday’s show were quick to pick up on the tense atmosphere as the presenters tried to remain upbeat but many accused Holly Willoughby of being “patronising”.

Instead, her co-host Alison Hammond made the cut, with the award going to Ant and Dec in the end.
The daytime show has faced a wave of backlash across the year following Schofield’s shocking revelations.
Not long after his exit, a string of former ITV talent came forward and accused the company of having a toxic work culture.
One expert has stated that Holly seemed “disappointed” and “embarrassed” over the snub.
Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, body language expert Darren Stanton analysed Holly’s response to losing the gong, and revealed the presenter felt “a lot of turmoil internally” as she showed her hurt through “masking smiles” and “disengaged eye contact.”
He continued to say that Holly “wanted to mask her embarrassment in front of everyone.”
Darren also closely went into detail about the way Holly clapped when The Repair Shop was announced the winner.
He said it had been “an insincere half-hearted clap” as he could see that “she wasn’t touching her hands together.”
The expert added that it was “having an effect on Holly emotionally,” while her colleague Alison Hammond expressed her joy through “genuine smiles” and “energetic clapping.”
