EXCLUSIVE ‘The weight hasn’t dropped off like everyone said’: Made In Chelsea’s Tiffany Watson details her ‘tough’ post-baby body image battle
Tiffany Watson has candidly detailed her ‘tough’ battle with post-baby body image, admitting ‘the weight hasn’t dropped off’.
The Made In Chelsea star, 29, welcomed her first child, a son Jude, with Colchester United footballer husband Cameron McGeehan in June and has been adjusting to life as a new parent.
She admitted she ‘naively’ had high expectations about post-partum weight loss and said other new mothers told her it would ‘just drop off’ while breastfeeding.
However, Tiffany told how this hasn’t been her experience because her hunger levels have increased while breastfeeding as she spoke about her postpartum struggles.
Speaking to MailOnline about her new role at Mama Bamboo as Head of Accessories Design, Tiffany confessed fitness has been ‘tough’ because she hasn’t had time while parenting baby Jude.
Motherhood: Tiffany Watson has candidly told how her expectations were ‘quite high’ with losing weight after giving birth to her son Jude
She exclusively told MailOnline: ‘I was quite naïve in thinking – everyone was like to me “oh my God if you breastfeed the weight just drops off”, but I haven’t found that to be the case because I get so hungry because of breastfeeding.
‘I’m eating more than I normally would because of those levels of hunger are like completely different.
‘I feel like the weight hasn’t dropped off like everyone said, so maybe my expectations were quite high with that.
‘Also it’s just like finding the time to actually go to the gym which is really non-existent and when you do have an hour free it’s like “oh I should probably prioritise doing some work or sorting out the house”.
‘It’s tough, it is tough but we’ve just joined a gym and we said we’d go together and he’d watch Jude and I’d do a class and then we’d swap, so hopefully we can stick to that which would be nice.’
Tiffany also candidly spoke about life as a new mother, admitting she didn’t ‘quite prepare’ herself and hadn’t read any parenting books before giving birth to Jude.
Now, she is having to do stints of solo parenting while her husband Cameron is away playing for Colchester United and admitted those periods have been difficult.
‘It’s definitely a shock to the system, I don’t think I quite prepared myself. I didn’t do any NCT classes or read any books or anything, so I went into it quite blind,’ she said.

‘But I luckily had family around who were able to help me out in the first few weeks. I feel like it’s only now that he’s four months that I’m finding it a bit more manageable, but where it’s days when Cameron is away for football and I’m on my own, it’s tough.’
Tiffany joked that Cameron often tells her about his long nights’ of sleep while he is away, leaving her raging because Jude struggles to sleep at night.
Speaking of Cameron being away for work, she said: ‘I’m exclusively breastfeeding so I think a lot of it is put on me, so obviously it’s easier for the man if he’s away because it’s not like part of him is needed.
‘But obviously he does miss him and really miss me, but he really p***es me off because he’ll be like “oh I slept from 9pm until 8am last night” and I’m like “I don’t need to hear that, so unfair!”‘
Even though she struggles with Cameron being away, Tiffany said she is glad he joined an Essex team, as there was originally talk of them moving to Copenhagen or the Middle East with newborn Jude.
As well as Tiffany welcoming her own son, she is also preparing to be an auntie after her sister Lucy and her partner James Dunmore confirmed they are expecting.
Lucy, 32, announced her baby news in September, just three months after Tiffany gave birth, and the reality star said her sister told her she was pregnant not long after she had Jude.
Tiffany gushed: ‘I’m going to be an auntie which is so amazing and [the two babies] are going to be really close in age, so it’s such happy news.
‘I found out quite soon after Jude was born so I was very hormonal anyway so I was just so happy. I’m so happy for her and James, it’s just the best news.’
Tiffany said Lucy and James have found it ‘eye-opening’ helping her with newborn baby Jude, and she has urged the couple to enjoy this time just the two of them before their baby arrives.

Happy news! As well as Tiffany welcoming her own son, she is also preparing to be an auntie after her sister Lucy and her partner James Dunmore confirmed they are expecting
Since announcing her pregnancy, Lucy has spoken openly about her plans to raise her first child as vegan, but Tiffany – who is also vegan – said she is still undecided if she will do the same for Jude.
‘I’m undecided at the moment, he’s obviously just having breast milk at the moment and that’s just what they need until like six months, so we’ve still got a bit of time to decide. I think we’ll just – I don’t really know, I need to do some more research into it,’ she said.
‘I’m not 100 per cent sure, I need to speak to a baby nutritionist really and see if I was to go down the plant-based route with him, what he would need to have as well to make sure he’s getting all the nutrients and things. So I need to do some research into that.’
Four months after welcoming Jude, Tiffany has returned to work and has been busy filming Made In Chelsea with her baby, while she is also working with nappy brand Mama Bamboo.
The star confessed she was ‘scared’ to film with Jude in case he cried during a scene, but admitted the cast and crew were all very accommodating when they filmed at her home.
As well as a busy filming schedule, Tiffany has started a new role as Head of Accessories Design with eco-disposable nappy and wipe brand Mama Bamboo.
Tiffany has been using products from the brand since giving birth to Jude and decided to work with them because they are eco-friendly and align with her beliefs.
She said: ‘When I first had Jude that’s the nappy and wipe brand we chose to use. We just loved the brand because the products are made from bamboo so it’s really gentle on the baby’s skin and it’s really kind, and it’s really kind to the planet, so it’s everything that aligned with what we like to use ourselves.
‘Then they noticed I was using the brand and buying it, and they got in touch with me and told me how they were thinking of launching this buddy club for the subscribers, and sending their range into more bamboo focused products, and would I like to be involved.
‘So I was like ‘I’d absolutely love that’ because it’s everything that aligns with me and everything I love.’
