Fern Britton has revealed that she is using a walking stick following her surgery this month.
The former This Morning host, 66, suffers from arthritis and last year she revealed she was waiting for surgery to “sort it out.” In October, the mum-of-four then told fans she had finally gone under the knife for an operation.
Fern had shoulder replacement surgery and the operation went well. She uploaded a snap of herself posing in front of a mirror while wearing a hospital gown and could also be seen with her arm in a sling.

And now, Fern has issued another update to fans – showing that she is using a walking stick. Taking to her Instagram on Friday (November 3) TV favourite uploaded a video of her cats play flighting, with a walking aide visible on the window ledge.
She captioned the video: “Barbara and her older brother Dr Mackerel being idiotic. Note physio aids on window ledge. Shoulder doing very well." Fern’s aids that she is referring to seem to be a wooden walking stick, as well as a dumbbell weight.
Fans rushed to the comments section to share their support. One person said: “Aww bless them kitty cats. Glad your shoulders healing well Fern.”
Echoing their thoughts, a second penned: “Glad you are on the mend.” Someone else quipped: “There's nothing quite like kitty entertainment. Glad you're recovering speedily.”
Another follower chimed in and penned: “They're both gorgeous. Glad you're progressing well.” A fifth wrote: “I hope you are well.”
Fern was waiting a while to have the surgery. She told Woman & Home last year: "I've got arthritis settling in everywhere. My knee is really bad and so is my shoulder. I'm waiting on a list for a surgeon to sort it out. It's very boring when your body starts to be in pain all the time.

Back in July, Fern revealed how she's "entered a new phase of her life" because her children are now adults, and she's no longer married. She was married to This Morning chef Phil Vickery for 20 years before calling it quits in January 2020.
She also shares twins Harry and Jack, 29, and Grace, 26, with first husband Clive Jones. As well as daughter Winnie, 22, with Phil.
She explained to Good Housekeeping: "It's as if this whole other world has opened up. I never thought this would happen; I didn't expect to be 65 and single and really relaxed."
