John Lewis releases teaser for it’s Christmas 2023 advert
John Lewis is renowned for its heartwarming Christmas adverts which are usually released within the first two weeks of November.
While the full advert for Christmas 2023 is yet to land on screens, the retailer has dropped a teaser clip on social media this morning (Tuesday, November 7).
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, John Lewis teased its followers in a caption under the clip: “Christmas begins 9 November.”
During the short video, a young boy wearing a blue jacket is seen holding a small brown box at a festive market.
He asks his grandmother who is not in the shot: “Gran, can I have this?”

The antique-looking small box had a slogan on it which read: “Grow your own perfect Christmas tree.”
Once the box was opened, a single seedling was sitting inside resting on satin material.
The advert is already causing a stir of excitement on social media, with viewers commenting on the adorable clip.
Pablo shared: “Love it. It’s going to be a good one.” Another fan wrote: “Can’t wait” with heart emojis.

Last year’s Christmas advert for John Lewis was called The Beginner which was about a man learning to skateboard to earn the respect of his foster child.
In 2021, the retailer aired an ad called The Unexpected Guest. It followed the story of friendship and discovering the excitement of Christmas for the first time.
The previous year, 2020, saw the release of the Give A Little Love campaign. It was inspired by acts of kindness during the coronavirus pandemic.
John Lewis members could get to see the festive advert before anyone else does, according to Heart FM.
The email reads: “The anticipation is growing… Our new Christmas ad is almost here.
“Become a My John Lewis member and download our app by 31 October to watch it first on launch day.”
