A Married at First Sight UK star has revealed they nearly went on a date with fellow cast member Ella before the show started.
While Ella was coupled up with Nathanial on the show, their relationship failed to develop after the groom admitted he wasn't sure if he fancied her.
The series got even more dramatic when Ella confessed she has feelings for JJ, despite him tying the knot with Bianca.
And now, in another twist, contestant George has revealed that he actually came close to going on a date with Ella, around five years before they were both cast on the show.
Speaking on the Divorced! Beheaded! Thrived! podcast, he said: "I actually knew Ella from five years ago when I lived in Bristol. I think we originally met in a club; I'm not sure. Or we ended up sliding into each other's DMs once upon a time."
"We were going to go for a drink; we never did. And then, obviously, Ella was a dancer, and I bumped into her a couple of times at the bar."
He added: "Seriously, I never get dances, but yes, she was in there, and we used to have a good laugh."
Currently, George is paired with Peggy, but he shared that he and Ella, who is the programme's first-ever transgender bride, formed a close bond on the show due to having the same sense of humour.
He added: "I actually think we could have our own sketch together one day because it was like absolute chaos! She's a vibe, she's a good egg. Yes, she's got a bit of a tongue on her, but she stands up for what she thinks is right."
It comes as it was revealed that Ella and JJ are set to cause even more explosive drama, with the pair set to cheat on their partners and re-enter the experiment as a couple.
The pair sent shockwaves through the group, after Ella announced she had developed feelings for the clothing brand owner.
A furious Nathaniel said, "Guys, I'm leaving now, I've lost myself in the whole of this storm. Bye, I'm gone," leaving the whole room stunned.
Meanwhile, JJ's wife Bianca was left feeling gutted and began to sob—before she later called them both 'f***ing liars.'
